Varanasi/New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- During his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi today, Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Ramgoolam requested the provision of an Indian ship as part of the planned mission to the islands of Chagos, ceded by the UK earlier this year.
Notably, the request to India comes as Mauritius is preparing to welcome a British delegation in November.
Mauritian PM Ramgoolam also focused on two other priority issues: the revision of the double taxation treaty in the financial services sector, as well as the training of Mauritian police officers, with the support of the Indian authorities.
