Kolkata, Sept. 5 -- A leading association of the Matua community in West Bengal has urged Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to act against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra over her recent remarks that, according to the organisation, hurt the community's sentiments.
The All-India Matua Mahasangh, led by Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member Mamata Bala Thakur, wrote to the Chief Minister demanding that Moitra be 'censured' and asked that she issuea public apology.
Although Thakur herself did not directly pen the letter, it was sent by the Mahasangh's General Secretary Sukesh Chowdhury.
