Barwani (MP), Sept. 24 -- A leopardess, which had been causing panic in the Limbai area of Rajpur sub-division, was captured late last night, forest officials said today.
Efforts to trap the carnivore had initially failed, prompting authorities to requisition three elephants from Satpura Tiger Reserve. However, the leopardess was caught before the elephants arrived.
Divisional Forest Officer Ashish Bansod said, "The cage was concealed with bushes, and pieces of meat from an animal hunted by the leopardess were spread leading up to it. The scent attracted the beast into the trap. The leopardess will be released at Van Vihar, Bhopal.
