Itanagar, Feb. 15 -- A devastating fire broke out at Tenga Market in Arunachal Pradesh's West Kameng district in the early hours of Saturday, reducing around 47 shops and about a dozen houses to ashes.
The inferno caused widespread destruction, leaving numerous families displaced. Though there were no reports of any casualties, some individuals sustained minor injuries in the process of firefighting and were provided immediate medical assistance.
Assessing the severity of the fire, West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Akriti Sagar immediately arranged additional water tankers from the Indian Army to aid in firefighting efforts.
