Imphal, Dec. 7 -- Security forces and Manipur Police have intensified statewide combing, cordon, and search operations targeting individuals involved in extortion, intimidation, and other crimes.
While multiple arrests were made across several districts, the most significant breakthrough came from Jiribam, where a major drug trafficking attempt was intercepted along National Highway 37.
Police on Sunday informed that on December 5, a joint team of Manipur Police, CRPF, and Assam Rifles had detained two individuals at Leingangpokpi village in Jiribam after stopping a Toyota Fortuner suspected of carrying illegal substances.
