Ranchi, Aug. 4 -- Thousands of people lined the roads of Ranchi today as the mortal remains of former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP 'Dishom Guru' Shibu Soren were brought from Birsa Munda Airport to his Morhabadi residence.
From early morning, grieving supporters, tribal organisations, and local citizens gathered on both sides of the route to bid a tearful farewell to the legendary Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) founder.
As the hearse moved slowly through the city, chants of "Dishom Guru amar rahein" echoed in the air.
The state government has announced a three-day mourning period from August 4 to 6. The veteran leader's final rites are expected to be held with full state honours.
