Beed, Dec. 12 -- A diesel tanker overturned and exploded on the Solapur-Dhule National Highway in Beed district on Friday evening, triggering a massive fire and disrupting traffic. There were, however, no casualties.
The incident took place around 5:15 PM at Kolwadi Phata in the Pali Ghat section near Manjarsumba, according to a delayed report received here.
According to officials, the tanker was negotiating the steep and winding ghat stretch when it tipped over. Moments later, a powerful explosion ripped through the vehicle, spilling a large quantity of diesel across the road.
