Lucknow, April 3 -- In an incident that has sent ripples through the police department, the entire staff of the high-profile Gautam Palli Police Station has been removed following serious allegations of corruption.
The police station is located in one of the most sensitive VVIP zones of the city, just behind the residence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The case began with a complaint alleging that personnel at the police station detained a man and demanded Rs 2.5 lakh in exchange for his release. The victim escalated the matter directly to the Chief Minister's Office.
