New Delhi, Feb. 25 -- Leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Tuesday said that it has commissioned the first phase of the manufacturing facility with a capacity of 2,50,000 units per annum at Kharkhoda in Haryana.
In a stock exchange filing, the car company stated that it has also started commercial production at the facility with effect from February 25, 2025.
India is a key market for Suzuki and the Japanese auto giant expects it to serve as an engine of growth in future.
In its Mid-Term Management Plan issued last week, Suzuki said it is aiming for 50% market share in India and to have 4 million units of annual manufacturing capacity in the country. India is set to serve as the company's global exports hub.
