Pune, Aug. 14 -- Marathi is not just a language, it is our culture. If we do not learn the language of the state in which we live, we cannot truly understand the culture of that land. We must learn Marathi, and we must preserve it, said former Minister of State for Home Kripashankar Singh here today.
His comments come amid the recent controversy over introducing Hindi in schools in Maharashtra, which was strongly protested against by the opposition parties, and also bullying of non-Marathi speakers by certain political party workers.
