Ranchi, Jan. 2 -- Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi on Friday accused the Hemant Soren government of keeping the tribal community in confusion over the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act (PESA) Rules despite being compelled to implement the law under court pressure.

In a statement shared on his social media platform, Marandi said the faith, traditions and identity of the tribal society are deeply rooted in ancient Sanatan values, which have historically formed the foundation of tribal social structure, self-governance and way of life.

He alleged that influenced by vote-bank politics and foreign religious forces, certain political parties are attempting to weaken these deep-rooted traditions of the tribal community.
