Imphal, Feb. 23 -- Manipuri film, Boong has made India proud by winning the prestigious BAFTA Award for Best Children's & Family Film in London on Sunday.
Manipuri film Boong, produced by Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment and directed by Lakshmipriya Devi of Manipur, was the only Indian film which made entry to the BAFTA. Lakshmirpiya in her acceptance speech appealed for return of peace.
The Manipuri film, beat international competition from 'Lilo and Stitch', 'Arco' and 'Zootropolis 2'.
The win brought together conflicting groups in Manipur celebrating as actors from all communities were part of the Manipuri film. Producer of the film Farhan Akhtar and his wife, Shibani Dandekar, were present in the ceremony in London.
