Imphal, June 6 -- A team of journalists who were stopped by troops while going towards Ukhrul to attend the Shirui festival will appear before a two-member probe panel formed by the state government on Saturday.
The media organizations in Manipur called a stir by boycotting the Governor, central, state government, and security personnel, related news after a vehicle carrying journalists was stopped by personnel of 4 Mahar Regiment and forced the occupants to delete the words Manipur State Transport on May 20 last.
The Chief Secretary of Manipur clarified that no order was given to do such an act, and a probe will be completed soon. The report of the enquiry was scheduled to be completed by June 5.
