Imphal, Jan. 16 -- Manipur Police and security forces intensified operations across the state, leading to the arrest of militants, recovery of arms and drugs, and destruction of illegal poppy cultivation on Thursday, police said on Friday.
Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of a militant outfit in Imphal West district. Security forces arrested another individual from Lamphel Sana Keithel under Lamphel police station in Imphal West district.
The arrested person was reportedly involved as an accomplice in the explosion at a fuel station in Moirang Thana Leikai of Bishnupur district on January 8. He is the second person to be arrested in connection with the case, and further investigation is underway.
