Imphal, Aug. 3 -- Manipur police have intensified their efforts to curb illegal trade activities across the state, conducting major operations targeting unauthorized fertilizer sales and drug trafficking networks yesterday.
Police said today that police teams carried out raids on retail shops and godowns involved in the sale and storage of fertilizers in Imphal East and Imphal West districts.
The operation was aimed at verifying whether the traders were registered with the government and complying with the legal provisions governing the sale of fertilizers. During the course of the investigation, one individual, Karan Chhetri, a resident of Nepali Basti, Chingmeirong in Imphal West, was arrested.
