Imphal, Nov. 12 -- Manipur Police have arrested several individuals allegedly involved in extortion activities across different districts of the state in separate operations conducted on Tuesday.
Two persons were arrested from their respective residences at Dibong Sanakhong under Jiribam Police Station, Jiribam district. The duo had reportedly been involved in extorting money from private schools in the area.
In another operation police apprehended a 56-year-old individual from Yairipok Kakmayai Maning Leikai under Nongpok Sekmai Police Station, Thoubal district.
The arrested person had been involved in extortion from government employees in Bishnupur district. A mobile phone along with two SIM cards was seized from his possession.
