Imphal, Sept. 9 -- Former Chief Minister of Manipur and current opposition leader Okram Ibobi criticised Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla for what he called a "partisan display" after the Governor held a closed-door meeting exclusively with ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators.

Ibobi told the media here today that the meeting, reportedly convened ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit, lowered the sanctity of Raj Bhavan by excluding opposition voices from critical discussions.

If the meeting was meant to address the ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis, then excluding opposition MLAs is an affront to the people of Manipur, Ibobi said.
