Imphal, Oct. 2 -- The birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was observed as National Cleanliness Day/Swachh Bharat Diwas at Gandhi Memorial Hall, Imphal, with Governor of Manipur Ajay Kumar Bhalla leading the celebrations.
The Governor, along with the Speaker of the Manipur Assembly, former Chief Minister, MLAs, Chief Secretary, DGP, senior civil and police officials and members of the public, offered floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor highlighted Gandhi's enduring values of truth, non-violence and self-reliance, stressing that these principles remain as relevant today as during the freedom struggle.
