Imphal, Aug. 22 -- Professor Shanta Laishram of the Indian Statistical Institute, New Delhi, was felicitated today by Surjakumar Okram MLA at his official residence in Babupara, Imphal, in recognition of her role as leader of the Indian team at the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2025, held in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, from July 10 to 20.

Prof. Laishram, a native of Khangabok Assembly Constituency, guided the 10-member Indian delegation, which included six contestants.

Under her leadership, the team secured an impressive tally of three gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze medal, placing India seventh overall among more than 120 participating countries.
