Imphal, Nov. 7 -- After a gap year at the 55th Indian Panorama in 2024, Manipur has made a remarkable comeback on the national cinematic stage with two Manipuri films selected for the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025.

The announcement was made by the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), terming it a proud moment for Manipuri cinema and its growing national stature.

In the prestigious selections, "Battlefield", a feature-length documentary directed by Borun Thokchom, has been chosen for the non-feature section, while "Oitharei" (Save My Soul), the debut feature film by Dinesh Naorem, has been included in the feature film category.
