Imphal, June 20 -- Manipur's department of higher & technical education has decided to screen M.Phil/ Ph.D. degrees of teachers in all government/government aided colleges following a Supreme Court judgement dated March 31, 2014 of dissolving the Chandra Mohan Jha University (CMJ) in Meghalaya.

Laishram Dolie Devi, joint secretary (Hr. & Tech. Edn.) government of Manipur said in a statement that all institutions were asked to submit details of teachers who have obtained M.Phil./ Ph.D. Degree from CMJ University, Meghalaya.

Reports have been received that there is a possibility of possession of fake/forged certificates of legitimate and good universities.
