Imphal, Dec. 18 -- The Manipur government has tightened security around several villages in Bishnupur district following repeated attacks by Kuki militants. On Tuesday night, militants reportedly used sophisticated weapons and bombs to target villagers.Some villages of Imphal East also faced attacks by suspected Kuki militants.
Manipur Police today said a DIG of Manipur Police visited the affected villages on Wednesday and took stock of the prevailing situation. An FIR has been registered in connection with indiscriminate firing by Kuki armed groups at Torbung for further investigation, the police added.
