Shillong, April 22 -- Meghalaya police have arrested the Finance Secretary of Manipur-based terrorist outfit Kangleipak Communist Party - People's War Group (KCP-PWG) Khundongbam Herojit Meitei from Byrnihat, an industrial town on the Assam-Meghalaya border, police said.
Meitei wanted by Manipur police was arrested late Monday evening from a rented house at Nongthymmai, 15th Mile Byrnihat in Ri-Bhoi district. Police seized two mobile phones and other incriminating documents from his possession.
"Meitei was involved in extortion and other subversive activities within Meghalaya and other northeastern states, Vivekanand Singh Rathore, the district police chief of Ri-Bhoi, said.
