Imphal, Aug. 8 -- Security forces have apprehended an active member of a proscribed outfit along with two individuals involved in motor vehicle theft in separate operations carried out in different parts of the state yesterday. Police said today in the first operation, an active cadre of an outlawed group was arrested from his residence in Imphal East district. He was allegedly involved in extortion activities, collecting illegal funds from educational institutions, fuel stations, government offices, commercial establishments, and the general public in the valley region.
