Imphal/Ukhrul, Feb. 8 -- Tension erupted in the Litan area of Manipur's Ukhrul district on Sunday following reports of a possible confrontation between two communities, prompting the district administration to impose prohibitory orders to prevent further escalation.
According to an official order issued by the District Magistrate, Ukhrul, there was an apprehension of a breach of peace and public tranquility at Litan involving members of the Tangkhul (Naga)and Kuki communities.
The situation was assessed as potentially dangerous, with risks to human lives and property if immediate preventive measures were not taken.
