Shimla, Aug. 25 -- The annual Manimahesh Yatra in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh is facing an unprecedented test as incessant rainfall and cloudbursts challenge the district administration's efforts to ensure the safety of thousands of pilgrims.

Despite the adverse weather, devotees from across India and abroad continue to flock to the sacred site, underscoring the enduring spiritual appeal of the Yatra.

Raising the issue in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly under Rule 62, Dr. Janak Raj highlighted the growing popularity of the Yatra and urged that it be included under the Central PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) scheme.
