Chandigarh, April 16 -- The Punjab Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has arrested a man from a village in Tarn Taran district who was allegedly linked to Pakistan-based smugglers, said state DGP Gaurav Yadav on Wednesday.
The DGP said the police recovered 3.105 kg heroin, two country-made pistols, cartridges of various bores and a digital scale from the accused identified as Jobanjit Singh.
Yadav said the investigation revealed that Jobanjit Singh received narcotic consignments from across the border. He also had a criminal history, Yadav added.
The police have registered an FIR at SAS Nagar. Further investigation is underway to dismantle the network of smugglers and their contacts.
