Bijnor, Jan. 6 -- A young man from Khari village in the Haldaur police station area was found shot dead late Monday night, his body discovered on Gauspur Road, a short distance from the village.
Police said on Tuesday that an illegal firearm was recovered near the body. Police officials reached the spot after receiving information, and a forensic team was called to assist in the investigation.
The body was sent for post-mortem examination. A case of murder has been registered against unknown persons, and the police have started a detailed probe.
The deceased has been identified as Islamuddin, son of Sharafat Ali, a resident of Khari village.
