Jhansi, Sept. 8 -- A man accused in an old murder case was shot dead in broad daylight today in Jhansi's Bhojla village, in what appears to be an act of revenge.
The incident occurred in front of his wife, who was also allegedly assaulted when she tried to intervene. The victim, Arvind Yadav (38), was a resident of Bhojla village and was out with his wife, Sangeeta, when the attack took place.
According to police and eyewitness reports, the couple had just withdrawn Rs 2 lakh from a bank and were on their way to repay a loan at another bank when they were ambushed near their village by a group of armed men on motorcycles.
