Shahjahanpur, Sept. 27 -- A joyful family celebration turned tragic in Mohanpur village (Tilhar area) last night when a man was shot dead inside his home, allegedly by the husband of the village head (Pradhan). The dispute reportedly arose after the family did not invite the village head's family to the naming ceremony of a newborn.
The deceased, Avneesh Kumar, worked as a computer operator at a local grain warehouse. He had recently become a father, and last night, the family was holding a naming ceremony for his newborn son, born on September 4. Close relatives and neighbors were present, with traditional songs being sung by women in the courtyard.
