New Delhi, Nov. 11 -- A 40-year-old man allegedly shot himself dead at Delhi's Jantar Mantar today while protesting to secure a job for his sister in the Madhya Pradesh Education department, according to police.

According to the police, the deceased, who has been identified as Lokendra, from Madhya Pradesh's Morena district, had been in Delhi since July, pressing for a compassionate appointment for his sister in the state's Education department.

"He had also staged protests at Jantar Mantar earlier over the same demand," a senior police officer said.

"His brother-in-law was employed as a peon in the Madhya Pradesh Education Department. After he died in 2019, the deceased had been urging the government to provide his sister with a job in ...
