Kaushambi (UP), May 31 -- A man was held guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 35,000 by a local court here on Saturday for rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl in Kaushambi district in Uttar Pradesh, prosecution sources said here.
Prosecution sources said that a man filed a report at Kokhraj police station on April 30, 2018 that a man killed his 14-year-old niece by hitting her with a brick. "In this case, the police filed a report against Sita Sharan under the Indian Penal Code and the Pocso Act, and after investigation, presented the charge sheet in the court," they said.
