Kendrapara, March 1 -- Ad-hoc Additional District & Session Judge(Fast Track Special Court) Tribikram Keshari Chinhara on Thursday sentenced a man to 20 years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) and a fine of Rs 70,000 for raping a minor girl.
According to special public prosecutor Manoj Kumar Sahu, the father of the minor girl lodged an FIR on April 14 last year at Kendrapara Sadar police alleging that one Babina Mallik, a betel shop owner had outraged the modesty of his daughter on April 13 ,2023, finding her alone near his shop.
The minor girl later disclosed the matter to her mother after the latter returned from her work.
The Police had registered a case against Mallik under Section 376AB IPC, section 6&8 of the POCSO Act and he was arrested...
