Nagpur, Aug. 23 -- A 39-year-old man was killed in a leopard attack at a farmhouse near Vichkhed village at Kondhali, about 48 km from Nagpur, Maharashtra, forest officials confirmed today.

The victim has been identified as Chandrashekhar Vyankatesh Balki, a resident of Vichkhed and an electrician employed at a company on the Koradi-Nagpur highway.

According to officials, the incident occurred late Thursday night while Chandrashekhar was resting at his farmhouse when a leopard attacked him. Hearing his cries for help, villagers rushed to the spot but couldn't save him.

He succumbed to his injuries on the spot, and his body was later sent for postmortem.
