Srinagar, April 21 -- A 43-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a moving train Sunday evening in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Rashid Bhat, a resident of Monghall, Anantnag, currently residing at Sofigund Wanpoh Kulgam.
The accident occurred at around 7:30 pm, one kilometer from the Anantnag Railway Station.
According to officials, Bhat was struck by a train traveling from Banihal to Budgam, resulting in his death on the spot.
Following the incident, a police team from the Railway Police Anantnag rushed to the scene and shifted the body to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for medico-legal formalities.
