Sydney, May 26 -- A man has been hospitalised after being injured during a violent home invasion in southwest Sydney, Australia.
A police statement said that officers were called to a home in Kingsgrove, 12 km southwest of central Sydney, about 4:30 a.m. on Monday and found a man with a wound to his leg.
Officers were told that the man, aged in his 60s, was injured when a group of five people armed with knives forced entry into the home.
He was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before being taken to the hospital in a stable condition.
Police established a crime scene at the property and detectives have commenced an investigation into the incident.
