Hamirpur (UP), March 20 -- A man accused of murder was held guilty and sentenced to Life Imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 2 lakh by a local court in Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, prosecution sources said here.

Prosecution sources said that Dhaniram, a resident of Maudaha town, used to graze animals. "On January 13, 2014, Dhaniram went to the house of Mahendra Singh to ask for wages for grazing animals," they said.

Prosecution sources said that enraged with this Mahendra Singh ran to attack him, on which Dhaniram ran towards the house. "Mahendra Singh, his son Shivbaran and Brijendra followed him with a licensed rifle and attacked Dhaniram, due to which he died on the spot," they said.
