Visakhapatnam, June 27 -- A man was awarded death sentence by a court here on Friday for killing six persons of a family, including a six-month infant.

Police said that the court awarded death sentence to Appala Raju for killing six persons. According to the police, on April 15, 2021, Appala Raju barged into a house at Juttada village of Pendurti mandal and hacked to death B Ramana (63), Usharani (35), Alluri Ramadevi (53), Nakkella Aruna (37), Bommidi Uday (2) and Urvisha (six months).
