Hapur, Dec. 19 -- A 27-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after consuming poison at the house of his married lover in UP's Hapur district. The incident led to dramatic scenes at the hospital, where the victim's mother allegedly assaulted the woman, accusing her of ruining her son's life by falsely implicating him in a rape case earlier, police said on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Rinku, was a resident of the main market area under the Garhmukteshwar police station limits, about 40 km from the district headquarters.
According to police, Rinku went to his married lover's house on Thursday afternoon around 1 pm. An argument reportedly took place between the two, following which Rinku allegedly consumed a poisonous substance.
