Jhansi, Oct. 20 -- A 35-year-old man died after self-immolation at his residence in the Haidil Colony area under Nawabad police station here, police confirmed today.
Authorities suspect that personal and family-related stress may have played a role in the incident, which occurred yesterday night.
The deceased, identified as Chandan Kori, was employed as a Class IV staff member in the Irrigation Department. At the time of the incident, he was residing with his mother, Urmila Devi, while his wife was living separately due to ongoing family matters.
City Circle Officer (CO) Laxmikant Gautam informed that preliminary findings suggest there had been continued personal strain.
