London, Sept. 9 -- Manchester City and the Premier League have settled their dispute over regulations governing commercial partnerships.

Under the agreement, City has accepted that the league's rules on associated party transactions (APTs) are valid and enforceable. Both sides confirmed that ongoing legal proceedings will be brought to an end.

"Neither the Premier League nor the club will be making any further comment about the matter," a joint statement said.

City had previously challenged the APT framework, arguing that the regulations were "unlawful."An independent arbitration panel had already found against parts of the Premier League's rules last year, following a case initiated by the club.
