Srinagar, Oct. 7 -- In an unusual case of impersonation and document forgery, the Economic Offences Wing (Crime Branch Kashmir) today registered a case against a man for allegedly posing as his own brother and producing fake documents to support the claim.
According to the EoW, a written complaint was received alleging that Amir Ahmad Munshi, who falsely claimed to be the son of Late Ghulam Ahmad Munshi, was in fact the son of Showkat Hussain Bhat, a resident of Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina, Srinagar.
The accused had allegedly prepared and submitted forged documents, including a Municipal Date of Birth Certificate, Domicile Certificate, School Records, Voter List, and Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), before a competent court in Srinagar....
