Sydney, June 19 -- A man has been arrested after a driver was stabbed following a crash north of Sydney in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Officers commenced an investigation after a 40-year-old man with stab wounds attended a police station in Cessnock, about 115 kilometers north of Sydney, the capital city of Australia's state of New South Wales, about 4:40 a.m. local time on Thursday.
A police statement said on Thursday that officers were told that the man was driving on a nearby road when his car collided with a sedan.
Following the collision, a passenger in the sedan allegedly stabbed the 40-year-old man in the leg.
Ambulance paramedics were called to the police station and treated the man before taking him to hospital.
