Meerut, Dec. 29 -- A birthday celebration in Meerut turned tragic on Sunday night after a man allegedly stabbed his brother-in-law to death following an argument over his daughters dancing at the party, police said on Monday.

The incident took place in the Lisari Gate police station jurisdiction. According to police, the party was organized at the house of Naim in Gurjar Chowk to celebrate the sixth birthday of his daughter, Atiba. Several relatives were present, including Naim's brother-in-law Salim (60), who arrived with his wife and daughters. Salim's brother-in-law Yunus (37) was also attending the celebration.
