New Delhi, Aug. 16 -- A man recently acquitted by Delhi's Tis Hazari Court in a case involving the assault of a Tihar Jail official has been found dead under mysterious circumstances inside Mandoli Jail.
The deceased, identified as Salman Tyagi, was found hanging in his cell yesterday. Jail authorities have claimed it to be a case of suicide, but his family has alleged foul play.
A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
Tyagi's death comes days after the Tis Hazari Court acquitted him of charges under Sections 186 and 353 of the IPC, which deal with obstructing and assaulting a public servant.
