Dharamshala, Dec. 10 -- National Commission for Women (NCW) member Mamta Kumari chaired a district-level public hearing at the Deputy Commissioner's office here, emphasising that while the law is strong, women must bolster their own willpower to fight domestic abuse.

A total of 25 registered complaints and five new cases were heard during the session on Monday. Ms Kumari issued instructions to officials for prompt action and said such hearings ensure quicker redressal for women who cannot travel to the Commission's office in Delhi.
