Kolkata, July 3 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today dashed off a letter to Union home minister Amit Shah expressing deep concern about the rising impact of provocative social media content and cyber crimes, suggesting the need for a stringent law.

She pointed out that increasing dissemination of provocative content on sections of social media platforms and the alarming rise in cyber crimes are posing serious challenges to public peace and the social fabric of the nation.
