Kolkata, Sept. 9 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed strong opposition to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list.
Speaking to reporters at Kolkata Airport today afternoon before leaving for North Bengal, the Chief Minister said the SIR process cannot be completed in just two to three months-it takes at least three to four years.
Her remarks come a day after the Supreme Court of India ruled that Aadhaar cards can be used as valid identification documents for the SIR process.
