Kolkata, Dec. 18 -- In a surprising development West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday criticised former state finance minister and presently main advisor Amit Mitra for backing the Goods and Services Tax (GST), saying he must now explain why the state has suffered losses under the new tax regime.
The chief minister made the remarks at the state's last business conclave ahead of the Assembly elections, held at the Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium here, in the presence of industrialists and representatives of the trading community from India and abroad.
