Mamata slams 'distortion' of Khudiram Bose's legacy on his death anniversary
Kolkata, Aug. 11 -- On the death anniversary of martyr Khudiram Bose, who embraced the gallows at the age of 18 while fighting the British colonial rule, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee voiced strong criticism over what she described as "disrespect at the central level" towards Bengali luminaries.
Referring to a Hindi film Kesari 2, in which Khudiram is portrayed as "Singh" and shown as the son of Punjab, Banerjee questioned whether "language terrorists" would go so far as to distort the identity of one of India's pioneering immortal revolutionaries.
